what I've been up to... written by pax

I decided to hold my baby brother yesterday for the first time. I told mama and daddy that he was heavy and then I was done. It was alright I guess. He cries a lot. I asked to hold him again this morning... I guess he's not so bad... unless he's crying...then I cover my ears and leave the room.

What I've really been into lately is making towers in my room with Grammy. I like to show Mama Daddy and Poppa when they are done. I've been decorating my towers for Christmas-time. I can even clean them up fast when I'm done.

Cookie Pie has been a solid companion through this hard week of changes. Mama even let me put a pull-up on him at naptime just like me. I sure love my cookie pie... and he never cries!

life as a big brother...

So, there have been a lot of special activities around here planned specially for Pax and his coming into big-brotherhood. I am so thankful for my parents being here. My mom first and now dad as well have made this time extra special for him with art projects, baking, reading new books, a new popper toy and lots of extra attention... it has been a lot of excitement for all. Pax is still adjusting, for sure, and this will no doubt go on for a while but he is making his way through it. This morning Ryan asked him if he wanted to say good morning to Remy. He politely replied, "no thank-you" and went on his way with playing with Grammy. He has mentioned a couple times that Remy is too loud and still has yet to hold him, but all things in their due time. His sensitive spirit promises a good big-brother... once he's ready.

reading with Poppa last night.

Pax put on his new red boots this morning and walked to preschool with Grammy and daddy. I am sure it will feel good to him to be in his own schedule with no baby for a couple hours today! Yeah for preschool and yeah for Pax... We love you and know you are going to be an amazing big brother!

How Pax Stays Healthy

That's the very last bit of his echinacea/astralagus tincture. Time to get more!

Remy, oh Remy...

...should be here any day.

And so Holly started a blog dedicated to his life. I know we could have consolidated and made this one into both of theirs, but that's not what we did. So, if you'd like to follow, subscribe to this blog.

Halloween stinks this year!

His choice of costume this yer... a skunk. So I made a little costume from a black hoodie and some cheap fleece scarves.

He wasn't so sure about wearing the costume. The nose lasted all of 3 minutes but once he realized the pay-off for the costume, he was fine!

We joined one of Paxton's friends from preschool and trick or treated in her neighborhood... lots of families and kiddos. They had great fun knocking on doors together.

Pax was of course thrilled with recieving candy and once he started realizing that he got candy at each door, he didn't want to stop! He choose a lolly-pop as his 1 candy for the night (he shared a bunch with us and D and B, and we shared a bit back with him). All in all, he was pretty tired at the end of the night and tuckered out with only a minor sugar crash. Thank God for tooth brushes!

Happy Halloween 2009!

Jack-O-Latern

Paxton directed the whole thing... one silly, one scary, and one happy.
He also named them. From left to right: Pietard, Roarcar, and Roco Taco.
